Warning: Proud Mom Braggy Post

I had to hold back my tears of pride for my family today.  Jimmy had "Sharing Day" and he wanted to share with his classmates his grandpa's World War II Navy hat and bayonet.  He also wanted to display Jason's Army medals and honors he received while serving.  As Jimmy was speaking to the class, and while I was looking at all of their angel-faces listening intently, it made me so proud of my late father-in-law and of my husband.  And then to see my little son speak of them so sweetly, I just beamed with pride.

 

This week, especially, with the anniversary of 9/11 made me more sensitive to those feelings and the people who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and those who continue to do so.

 

I watch the news and I just think, "When is the world going to end?  When will the Lord come?"  The world is so wicked and evil and my heart breaks every day seeing innocent people losing their lives in the hands of murdering men and I just get sad.

 

Anyway, today I was feeling righteous pride for my country and for my family.

 

Something else happened today that made me proud.  As Jacob was walking into the school this morning, I watched him hold the door open wide for a girl so she could walk in before him.  What a gentlemanly thing to do.  I complimented him and felt good knowing that all my instruction is sinking in. 

Idaho Evening

I went down to Idaho over the weekend to attend my great-niece's wedding open house held at my sister- and brother-in-law's home.  The put together this darling event in their back yard and I told them I would come down and help out, take some pictures for them.  It was the most gorgeous evening imaginable -- perfect weather.  I had a great time!

 

In With the New

New school year.  New school.  New city.  New job.  New ward.  New home.  New friends.

Progress

We received the news today that Jason passed his dermatology boards.  He woke me and had me read the email on his laptop.  I was so thrilled!!  We all are so thrilled ... and relieved that it's over with once and for all.  Residency!  It nearly killed us.  Not joking.

 

Meanwhile, our home is coming along.  I took this picture yesterday.  They're getting the stonework done and paving the driveway.  The inside is all sheetrocked and painted.  Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

 

The kids had their open house at their new school yesterday as well.  We met their cute teachers and found their desk where they'll be sitting.  It's such a precious country school.  I'm so glad they'll be going there. 

 

Tomorrow we head into Bozeman permanently.  We've been renting a condo this past month in Big Sky, which has been fun, but I am so ready to be settled and get these kids out of the house and into school.  We'll rent another condo (3 bedrooms!) for the next two months while our home gets finished. 

Picnic on the Gallatin

I packed a lunch and hauled the kids down to one of my favorite spots on Earth:  the Gallatin River.  We had fun being outside and splashing around in the freezing water.  Just a few more days until school starts so I'm trying to squeeze in all the fun that we can get.

 

 

New Home

This is our new home!  We have to wait until October to move in, but we are so excited.  It's just an itty-bitty babydoll house, which is what we wanted for now.  This will give us the time we need to search for land and build the dream home someday.  And then we'll turn this into a rental/income property.  But for now ... beyond excited to get into this and get settled.  Perfect!
